Loom!!

Hoorah,

This weekend I got my loom - how exciting. It also made me re-think my workroom and have a move round.

Can't wait to get started! I am very lucky to have so much space, but I am sure I will fill it.

Will keep you posted on my weaving progress! I have a couple of books but I am having trouble remembering the names of everything! Sleys, Reeds, it's all very confusing!

Seagulls are Thugs

Whilst I love living by the sea here, I must say I really am getting sick of the sodding seagulls. They must be the only birds that make noise all day AND all night. Usually about 3am they start going on and on and on, and so loud they wake me up.

I know it's a novelty for people to come to the sea side and feed them chips, but have a heart and don't encourage them! There are so many now that they begin to get aggressive and try and steal food from people.

Plus, I could do with a good nights sleep!

Inspired by Lettuce

After seeing Lettuces lovely pics of Perpignan, I thought I'd stick a few of mine on here of Sweden. Not quite as artistic maybe, but hope you like them.

People are always surprised when you tell them you are going to Sweden for a holiday but I love it there, it's a beautiful place with lovely people. Give it a try - you won't regret it!

Fruit of the Loom

Just a small post to say I am very excited as I am getting my loom this weekend. No idea how to weave but have a one day course planned soon to get me on my way.

Looking forward to it so much I can't tell you!

Will keep you up to date on my projects - any tips gratefully received

Also wanted to say Congratulations to my favourite Hastings shop - Made In Hastings - who recently won a Country Living award. Well done!

In the meantime here are some cushions I have made from Irish Linen. I'm very pleased with them. They have vintage buttons, embroidery and raw silk designs.

Fabulous Books

There are some great crafting books around at the moment. Here are some of my personal recommendations:

All available from Amazon.co.uk. They are modern, funky and inspiring.

I also did a rather silly thing last week. I bought a 4 shaft table loom. I have no idea how to weave, but I have booked myself on a course in August to learn. It looks ever so complicated but I'll give it a go. I like the idea of creating a cloth purely by hand.

SO watch out everyone, handwoven Christmas pressies this year!!! (My poor friends, they must get sick of my handmade gifts!!!!).

Also wanted to say, that it is also time for the NoaNoa Sale. My absolute favourite clothing! I must admit I was in Sweden in June and I did buy a couple of bits in the sale there, which was extra nice. I did stop at the shoes though, as I was very tempted by a pair of turquoise Mary Jane shoes, but I was very strong and put then back.

I did however buy a pair of Marimekko clogs, which was very naughty of me, but aren't they delicious.....

Sweden was lovely as usual, and here is the view from the farm:

Pincushions

Have got a thing about pin cushions lately. Made these yummy ones from some vintage Liberty fabric. Have also been felting and am very proud of my Coffee Pot Cosy!

Well, I am back

After much shilly shallying and dilly dallying, I have come back to Blogger.com.

Probably no-one has missed me, but here I am all the same.

So much has happened, but now I'm good.

I am now living by the sea on the south coast which I love.

I am aiming to try and use this blog to share with anyone who might be interested, the things I make, to share ideas and maybe pick up some new ones!
